Just signed up for Vimeo.  I picked up a Flip Mino HD last Christmas, but so far only have a few videos done.  If you’re interested in these new pocket cameras, this video here is a comparsion betwee the Flip Mino HD and the Kodak Zi6.  I personally haven’t gotten my hands on the Kodak yet, but I like the Flip a lot, but I wish I could extend the memory.  60 minutes seems fine, unless you go out for long periods without access to your computer, forcing you to delete videos and prioritize those youw ant to keep.  Check out the video though, as it does a great job explaining the differences between the two.

Been a while since I’ve posted on Digital Robots, and even longer since I’ve posted about new toys on the web (since this is just a post of my cousin eating balut, a Filipino delicacy and also an unborn duck egg).  Enjoy!

Tried to log-in to Facebook this morning, and was surprised to see this new image on the homepage.  I personally like it (it’s already an improvement over nothing) and though there are plenty of images simialr to this, Facebook is ahead of everybody in terms of social networking.

Another search engine competes with Google, but this one has a unique advantage from the others – it’s created by the same person who created Google’s search engine!  Anna Patterson is back at it and this time isn’t selling her work.  This search engine includes a few features in its search results that Google doesn’t do, such as web index and content analysis.  Check it out and let me know what you think – on my own search, Culi already picked up a few results about me that I wouldn’t find on a simple Google search.

Please don’t quit your job because they don’t let you get on Facebook.  Especially when you have a full-time job that provides you with health insurance, 401K, paid vacation, and sick leave.

I went through almost two years without any of those benefits as I tried to find a place in my job field after graduating college.  It sucked!  I could never afford to go to the doctor because prescription medicine costs too much, I couldn’t take off work because I wouldn’t get paid for not being in the office, and I couldn’t even think about saving for retirement because I wasn’t making a whole lot of money – but I had access to Facebook!

Really, it doesn’t add up.  And you probably shouldn’t ask them in your interview whether they do or not.

Unless you work for the government, there are other ways to keep in contact with people, like through AOL instant messenger or Gmail.  If they don’t let you download the AIM software, you can still log in through Gmail, but you need Internet Explorer 7 or the latest Mozilla Firefox version to do so.  There’s also Meebo.

During my previous story on Myspace Apps, I mentioned how I have gradually distanced myself from the site as I became more of a Facebook user. It’s come to the point that I only go on Myspace to check out the music pages, which I think may be the only thing it has an upper hand on.

One of the most hilarious add-on features for the upcoming Firefox 3 browser is the “AmIOnMySpace.com?” plug-in. According to the description on the download page, this will kick up a pop-up window whenever you go to Myspace to make sure you do, in fact, want to go go there and that this wasn’t an accident.

There’s a story on CNN about Jacks Karl Buck, the man who sent the tweet with the word “Arrested” to his friends through Twitter and ultimately was freed. He was originally detained with a colleague during a protest against low wages and rising food prices in Egypt, and now he’s trying to get Mohammad Maree out too.

But wait a minute–how can people get away with selling programs for breaking into your PC or stealing your identity? Simple: Selling malware is not directly illegal in the United States (or nearly anywhere else). Only using it is illegal.

Tried to tweet today to update my life, but got this image instead.  Is Twitter becoming too popular for it’s own good?  Hmmmmm I wonder…

However, Flock just caters to all your social media needs from the startup. Everybody has a Facebook page and most include Flickr, YouTube, and Twitter in their daily online browsing – Flock makes it easier to keep track of your friends on each account without having open each site yourself. I especially like how I can publish a new blog post without having to open up my blogging software (though I admit that’s not the case here, as I couldn’t figure out how to position the image to the right of my text). You can even upload images to Flickr and video to YouTube using the 10 key buttons located at the bottom of the basic web browser buttons (see image).

It will probably be a little overwhelming on your first go around with the browser, but the more you use it the more you’ll become familiar with all the available features and it may end up your favorite browser yet.
